our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Yon Idy. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his compositional style.
As soon as I heard that sweet arpeggio and the quality of the guitar’s sound I was fascinated by the music of this talented artist.
I immediately realized that I was in front of a great songwriter with a lot of experience behind him.
His folk music is able to speak directly to the listener’s heart and soul and manages to excite for the sweetness of the melodies.
The production is perfect for the genre and the mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
I really enjoyed how Yon Idy interprets his songs, I felt a lot of passion that exudes from his intense vocal timbre.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone!

Yon Idy is a singer-songwriter based in Skopje. His style of music can be best described as indie-pop primarily driven by acoustic instruments. Although, with the latest releases, as is the case with Got Me All Down, the influence of blues has become more apparent. Raised by listening to The Beatles and Leonard Cohen Yon’s music seems to be the perfect combination of both. He discovered his love for songwriting soon after he started learning how to play the guitar in his teens. When creating, Yon always tries new styles in order to stretch his creative reach and develop artistically in the meantime. So, what’s next from Yon? It remains to be heard.
