White Widow is Layla Bina’s Single
The energy that this artist’s music releases immediately won me over.
A direct and irreverent rock sound that has the ability to keep you glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
The thing I liked most about this artist’s way of composing music is that in her melodies I hear details that recall her Iranian origins … some nuances and passages made me think of the Middle East.
In the chorus for example the “a ah” that closes the lines made me feel in Persia.
Obviously, this compositional approach makes her stand out from the crowd and in my opinion, it is a path that will bring her much fortune.
If we look at bands like System of a Down who have managed to integrate Armenian melodies into their sound and the success they have had, I believe that Layla Bina’s sound can be equally successful.
The production is professional and the performance is impeccable.
We are faced with an artist with a clear and solid vision in mind who carries forward with determination her musical project.
With this attitude, she can do really great things as she is very talented and her songs are fantastic.

White Widow is Layla Bina’s Single
Born and raised in Southern California, Layla Bina is a punk-inspired, first-generation Iranian-American singer-songwriter.
Layla grew up taking piano lessons and writing music, and her love of classic rock and punk pushed her to teach herself guitar and bass. Over the years, Layla’s songwriting progressed from toplining pop songs to arranging and producing heavy-hitting rock anthems. As a classically-trained singer of Persian descent, her distinct voice brings a unique sound to the world of rock.
Having studied psychology at UCLA, Layla is a big advocate for mental health awareness. By reflecting on the insight garnered through her education, as well as pulling from her upbringing in a mind-numbingly insular, utopian SoCal suburb, Layla’s lyrics cover an array of mental health and social issues. Her ultimate goal is to represent the underrepresented in mental health conversations.
Layla is currently recording her debut album with Grammy Award-winning Producer Josh “igloo” Monroy.
