Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to WEAK TYRANT. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their sound.
I liked the mysterious and nostalgic sound of this band right away.
In some passages, I felt some similarities with Bad Religion’s punk, obviously, in a more rock-pop version.
The melodies, in particular, struck me, they remain in your head for a long time after listening and I was particularly fascinated by the chord progression and the harmonic intuition that focuses on minor tones.
It feels like these guys have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable musical understanding.
Their songs are well-produced and masterfully performed.
The mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Weak Tyrant is a freshly formed five-piece band from Bern, Switzerland. All musicians are/were active in other projects (Posthumanbigbang, Chelsea Deadbeat Combo, Horace, Hot Running Blood) and now find themselves in a new musical genre. Vocals are clean and riffs more melodic. Nevertheless, emotions break through and intensity comes first – it’s simply a different musical language. With the debut EP “To Be Pure” (2021 ) the band tells everyday stories, as they occupy all of us.
