Eddie Cohn’s latest single, “Wave Goodbye,” is a stirring addition to the alternative rock scene, with an introduction that immediately grabs your attention.

The initial harmonies reminded me of the exquisite vocal arrangements of the Beach Boys.

As the song progresses, Cohn’s music delves deeper, and you quickly find yourself enveloped in a wave of sentiment that balances nostalgia with a sense of hope.

The song’s video further enhances this emotional journey. The imagery of the setting sun, which continues to bathe everything in its golden light, serves as a powerful metaphor for life.

It suggests that as long as we possess the spark of life, we can continue to shine and make a difference. This visual element complements the song’s message enhancing the overall impact.

Lyrically Cohn’s words resonate on a personal level.

Musically, “Wave Goodbye” is a masterful alternative rock ballad infused with some U2 vibes. This combination makes it not only a great listen but also intriguingly complex.

“Wave Goodbye” invites you to reflect on life, appreciate the beauty of the present moment, and find hope even in times of farewell.

Quote: “This past year was a big year for me in terms of looking inward and trying to fine tune the way I live my life. I had a pretty big birthday and when you hit these markers in life, at least for me, it certainly causes me to turn inward and reflect on where I’ve been and where I want to go. I think about the people in my life or the habits I’ve created and I wondered which ones were good for my mind and which ones could maybe be eliminated.

This song is about saying goodbye to the people or the habits or the things that just don’t serve us in a positive way. It’s also about change. Can we change or are we innately stuck as being the same person for the rest of our lives? I’d like to think we always have the ability to change and that’s sort of what this song is about.

Are you the same person before and after these milestone events in our lives or can they inspire us to change the way we look at the world. There’s always these big moments, whether good or bad, that come up in our lives and I think they can serve as good markers or excellent opportunities to help us create a better version of ourselves. It’s not easy but I’m always looking for ways to fine tune or explore new avenues of creativity.
