our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Wake the Sun. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their general sound a lot.
The sound of this band convinced me from the first seconds. A powerful, refined and harmonically perfect music. We immediately realize that we are in front of great musicians.
You can feel that these guys sweated a lot in the rehearsal room and made their guitars spit blood before reaching such an enviable sound understanding.
The chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second with very interesting harmonic and rhythmic variations.
The guitar solos are fantastic and the singer’s voice is very peculiar with its high and confident timbre.
A band to keep under the radar because they seem to have clear ideas on how to propose their musical project to the world.

Wake the Sun is a four piece rock band from NY, New York. The band exhibits nuances on blues, southern stomp, psychedelia and soul all rolled into one. Vintage rock with NY grit. For fans of The Black Keys, Royal Blood, Gary Clark Jr., or Kings of Leon.
