Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Voodoo Bloo. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of their music.
The sound of this band immediately fascinated me, a way of composing music that reminded me of bands of the past but manages to be modern.
The voice in particular brings with it ancestral nuances that manage to speak directly to the mind and heart of the listener.
An intriguing low and slightly hoarse vocal timbre is able to hypnotize the listener and brings you inside the musical vision of this talented band.
Honestly, I found no flaws in the music proposed by these guys, a mature, original sound that in my opinion is ready to be known by the masses around the world.
The chord progression is never banal and it’s interspersed by absolutely original rhythmic variations.
A band to keep under the radar because these guys know what they’re doing.

Voodoo Bloo is a powerful indie rock-driven project, led by Rory McDonald. Their sounds are very much influenced by acts such as Arctic Monkeys, Deftones and System of a Down, as well as some singer-songwriter artists such as Car Seat Headrest and Neutral Milk Hotel, which brings a great blend of emotional and conceptual songwriting with a very catchy and frequently danceable distorted mess.
