Vol. 1 is The Dead Blues Club’s Album | Indie Music
Honestly, I have a hard time labeling this kind of sound. The compositional approach is so free and without rules that it lives in its own limbo.
I listened very carefully to all the tunes on the Vol. 1 album and was amazed by the eclecticism of The Dead Blues Club.
The influences and inspirations are many. I heard the 80s and 90s mingling with more modern sounds. The careful choice of sound ingredients created a unique sound recipe that kept me glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
A solid album where all the songs follow a coherent thread and where the compositional skills of this intriguing artist are highlighted.
Go and listen it’s worth it.

The Dead Blues Club is a solo project from Devious Dogs’ guitarist, singer/frontman and songwriter Richard Gray. He performs drums, percussion, bass guitar, electric organ, keyboards, synthesisers, guitars and vocals. In addition to songwriting, arrangement, and sound design. Devious Dogs bandmate Sam Bollands was frequently in the company of RG during this time, and inevitably ended up joining in with the project.
Sam Bollands performs additional keys/organs on many of the album tracks and has become the only other permanently featured member of The Dead Blues Club. Not one to be left out, Devious Dogs drummer and longtime collaborator Kenny Thompson is a featured performer as the drummer on 2 of The Dead Blues Club’s debut songs, The Bridge & Cosmonaut.
