Edgar Allan Poets – Noir Rock Band | Vals is Sehore's Single Out Now
Vals is Sehore’s Single Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
Sehore, the band behind the electric single Vals, take listeners on a wild, genre-bending journey that could almost be described as a sonic adventure.

Vals is Sehore’s Single Out Now

The track kicks off with a mysterious arpeggio that quickly gives way to an unpredictable and raw sequence of chords.

The introduction feels like a nod to the grunge era but doesn’t stay there for long. The song morphs, layering in offbeat rhythms and unexpected shifts that veer into something quite different — think of a celebration from a distant place, infused with an almost ceremonial energy that reminds you of a Spanish fiesta.

As the track moves into the verse, the tempo and mood shift again, this time to a more hypnotic and tribal feel. The song plays with contrasts, blending elements that are at once charming and strange. The repetition of the arpeggio comes back and gives a sense of unity, grounding the listener in its familiar tones. Yet, it’s never fully static. The chorus bursts forth once more, before we are led into an intense instrumental break.

The guitar solo here is pure chaos in the best possible way. It’s experimental, with sharp, fiery bursts that bring to mind the aggressive energy of Tom Morello’s work. There’s a sense of recklessness that feels free and controlled, with every note making a statement as if it were a spontaneous eruption.

Sehore’s music feels unbound by conventional structures. There’s an improvisational quality to the track that makes it seem as though Vals could exist in any number of worlds, while its playfulness and wild spirit make it stand out in the sea of formulaic productions.

What I admire most about this band is their boldness. They embrace a level of creativity that feels exciting, echoing avant-garde influences like the chaotic, free-flowing noise of Naked City. Though Sehore’s genre may be distinct from those avant-garde experiments, the essence of the freedom they embody feels strikingly similar.

In Vals, Sehore proves they are a band that isn’t afraid to take risks and push boundaries. The track may feel fragmented in its transitions, but that’s part of its charm. It’s a song that thrives in its unpredictability, and you can’t help but respect the raw, untamed creativity that fuels it.

Unrestrained!

“The song “Vals” creates a delirious atmosphere inspired by two different films: “The Fearless Vampire Killers” (1967) by Polanski and “La estrella azul” (2023) by Macipe.”

Sehore is a newly emerging musical project that began its journey in 2025 with the release of its debut album, Ladencia. The project presents an alternative approach to songwriting, blending familiar chord progressions with unconventional harmonies often avoided in mainstream music.

Sehore’s core proposal is an alternative blend of songs composed with standard chord progressions contrasted with other harmonies that are typically avoided and referred to as dissonances (“Pesadilla,” “Mañana,” “Safari,” “Vals,” etc.). The tracks play with kitsch and a “cheesy” style, steering away from emulating a specific era and instead combining rhythms from different periods. However, listeners are free to interpret the music however they wish. The album intentionally includes noises that, while reducing sound cleanliness, add a more natural feel.
