Good Day Noir Family,
Me & Melancholy’s latest album, “Under Cover, Part 2,” is another testament to the producer’s ability to create unique and evocative electronic soundscapes.

The album opens with “The Sun and the Rainfall,” a track that immerses the listener in a world of atmospheric synths and reverberating vocals.

The song creates a sense of tranquility and introspection, as if walking through a forest on a rainy day.

“Sexe” offers a stark contrast, with its driving industrial beat and pulsating bassline.

The track is hypnotic and energetic, inviting listeners to lose themselves on the dance floor. “This Modern Love” strikes a more melodic balance, blending nostalgic elements with the producer’s signature electronic style.

The song’s catchy chorus and introspective verses create a sense of longing and melancholy.

“Fake Plastic Trees” is particularly intriguing. The producer’s arrangement features a blend of male and female vocals, creating a haunting and ethereal atmosphere.

The cover of “Smalltown Boy” is a slower, more emotionally charged version of the Bronski Beat classic. I find this rendition particularly moving.

The album concludes with a beautiful “Lovesong.” With a haunting vocal performance that adds a new layer of emotion to the track.

“Under Cover, Part 2” is a collection of tracks that showcases Me & Melancholy’s versatility and creativity. The album is a must-listen for fans of electronic music and anyone who appreciates a well-crafted cover.

Me & Melancholy is the brainchild of musician and producer Peter Ehrling, a one-man project that delves into the world of electronic music with a focus on melancholic, synth-based sounds. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Me & Melancholy was derived from Gränsen, established in 2022 and draws inspiration from some of the most influential synthpop and new wave bands of
the 80s and 90s, including New Order & Depeche Mode as well as indie bands from 90s and today such as Radiohead, Pavement & Bloc Party. This unique blend of retro and contemporary sounds creates a nostalgically upbeat and introspective atmosphere in each Me & Melancholy release.
