The 80’s vibes of the music proposed by this artist fascinated me.
Roy Shakked has managed to find a particular balance between the past and modern and his sound is recognizable and mature.
Throwback is a mature album where all the songs are well thought out and follow a common thread that marks the compositional style of this artist.
In this sound, I felt influences from Depeche Mode, Manu Chao, and Jamiroquai.
The production is excellent, the mix in particular leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
An album that intersperses more danceable songs with more nostalgic and intense tunes.
Roy Shakked’s compositional skills are limitless as he has managed to find a way to communicate directly with the listener through his music.
