Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Y Axes. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify I liked their music and vision.
The sound of this band is very interesting and I was immediately fascinated by their music.
The first thing I was intrigued by was the melodic line and the vocal timbre. A voice that seems to hide a secret with nostalgic nuances that somehow make you believe in the words of the lyrics.
It feels like The Y Axes spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable sound understanding.
I also liked the video that in some moments reminded me of the atmospheres and colors of Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun.
This band hides something very fascinating because it brings with it the mystery and the charm of the fog that comes to color everything in white.
Go and listen to them, it is worth it!

Magical and Nostalgic!
Quote: “Save Anyone” is an anthemic, driving track written May of 2020. Written during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, the song encapsulates a wish to “save” people from suffering, but feeling powerless. I was inspired to write the song when my partner was forced to move away because of the pandemic, and when I say I was “inspired” I mean heartbroken and trying to console myself, overwhelmed by the upheaval the pandemic had caused everyone. I remember watching Porter Robinson’s Secret Sky set, and when I heard “Don’t you waste the suffering you’ve faced; it will serve you in due time” in “Get Your Wish”, I immediately wrote the chorus for the song.
