Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Trudy. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their sound.
I put on my headphones and immediately felt catapulted into a mysterious and fascinating universe.
The singer’s very reverberant voice immediately won me over. Sinuously passing through my ears, it entered me and hypnotized my soul.
I felt like a cobra in front of its master and I let myself be guided and abandoned myself to the twilight atmospheres created by this band.
In some moments the overall atmosphere reminded me of Mazzy Star.
A band capable of transporting you to another universe.
The distant guitars with perfect arrangements manage to create this aura of magic and the rhythmic and incessant drumming, followed like a shadow by the bass, are able to make you fly with your thoughts.
Truly a great discovery, an eclectic and original band that offers a very interesting music, absolutely recommended.
Dear Sancho is The Trudy’s Single Out Now!
Bewitched atmospheres!
London post-punk doyens The Trudy share new music.
‘Dear Sancho’ follows the curious relationship between Cervantes’ mad knight-errant Don Quixote and his everyman squire, Sancho Panza. The aching cadence of Melissa Jo Heathcote’s vocals casts shifting shadows as ‘Dear Sancho’ builds toward its epic chorus, embraced in a warm, psychedelic guitar swirl and subtle vibraphone shimmer. The Trudy project Cervantes’ ill-fated characters into today’s equally bewildering world, where their absurd battles fueled by impossible ideals are brought to life in the dark accompanying animated video by Hally.
