As soon as I pressed the play button I realized that I was dealing with a songwriter with great compositional experience behind him.
Harry Kappen’s music carries influences from David Bowie and the Beatles. This artist has something to say and the lyrics of his songs are deep and make the listener think.
The musical arrangements of The Freedom Inside are fantastic, especially the strings, and can literally make you travel with your imagination.
The song is accompanied by a nice animation which in my opinion perfectly describes the nostalgic vibes of this song.
Harry Kappen manages to excite the listener with his music as he sincerely describes his deepest emotions. He’s a talented and mature artist that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

Harry Kappen is a Dutch musician and musictherapist. He is a multi-instrumentalist and composes his songs in his homestudio in the Netherlands. His music is eclectic; catchy songs, dramatic works, poppy, solid guitar rock, smooth ballads, classical. Most of his lyrics are very personal. About his past, his love, his fears etc. Music and text are presented as one coherent whole. A nice mix of Bowie, McCartney, Motorpsycho and especially a lot of ‘Harry’. ‘Escape’ is his latest album, including 12 songs about escaping reality in dreams, fantasy, art, hope, love and despair followed by this new single “The Freedom Inside”.
