Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to The Creature Comfort. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their style a lot.
I was immediately fascinated by the sound of this band.
A way of composing music that winks at past musical eras but at the same time manages to be modern.
The melodic construction and the harmonic intuitions are in typical English style, irreverent and sincere.
This music makes you feel free and awakens your wild rock spirit.
As I was listening to their new single ‘And You Know It‘ my head started rocking back and forth. I got carried away by the vibrations and enjoyed this beautiful song without asking too many questions.
I liked the overall sound and the voice, perfect for this kind of music.
Melodic lines that leave room for mystery and nostalgia but do not disdain the vital energy that only rock can give.
Go and listen to them, it is worth it!
And You Know It is The Creature Comfort’s Single Out Now!
Powerful and Irreverent!
The Creature Comfort are a modern psych-rock band formed in Manchester around the darkly surreal vision of frontman Ben Le Jeune. The line up also includes Steve Jones from Metal Monkey Machine and Jose Ortega from Termofrigidus (Spain). Their music has been described as “glorious, chaotic” (God Is In The TV), “druggy, weird and a gas” (Vibrations Magazine) and to be “held in the same esteem as Joy Division, The Stone Roses, Oasis” (Louder Than War). Sonically, they approach the sounds of Limiñanas, White Denim, Grinderman, MC5, The Hives.
Since their debut album in 2013 the band has been playing regular UK tour dates and festivals while gaining radio exposure including BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio London, XFM / Radio X. From 2016 onwards the band was releasing a series of singles, starting with the full-on, furious energies of ‘What We Want’ and ‘Alone By Your Side’. These were followed by the grooving soul punk of ‘Life’s A Crime’ (2019), road trip anthem ‘Highway 7’ (2019), and the deranged intensity that is ‘And You Know It’ (April 2021).
