Flea‘s vision of life was changed by a book. Can a book have a strong impact on a person?
The Book That Changed Flea’s Life
The book contains numerous conversations between the journalist Sean O’Hagan and the famous artist Nick Cave.
Sean explores the inner parts of artists’ minds, trying to discover the motivations and inspirations that underlie their work. He examines their childhood and adulthood experiences, their personal beliefs, artistic expressions, sufferings, and pains.
The journalist looks also at their relationships, work habits, and any significant changes they may have undergone in recent years. He conducts this interview by asking some key questions such as every time you look back, how have you become kinder?, what helped you to get stronger and go deeper?’, how did you get closer to God?’ and ‘how have you improved as a human being?’.
Flea, the bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, has posted a video on his Instagram account to celebrate the book: “Faith, Hope and Carnage” by Nick Cave and Sean O’Hagan.
The book opened Flea’s mind and pushed him to reflect and change his thinking about himself and others.
It let a river of God flow through him. It made him relive all suffering, pain, anxiety, fear, and things he has been through in his life.
With regard to interpersonal relationships, the book made him want to be a better husband, father, and friend. The judgment and petty arguments are silly things of no importance.
“Faith, Hope and Carnage” gave Flea the energy to live in a state of absolute wonder at the beautiful in this world.
It really changed Flea’s life and it did that in the most fucking profound way!!!!!! It made him happy and feel less alone.
