Rather than bundling her work into one cohesive album, the artist opts for two distinct EPs, giving each set of tracks its own space to breathe.

This decision allows listeners to engage with the music in different ways, exploring an intriguing variety of tones and moods that span the spectrum from carefree dance beats to introspective reflection.

The first track on LOVERS, UPRIGHT, “4:15 (I’ll Dance),” immediately signals the energetic, mainstream-friendly vibe TE/MO embraces. It’s a track designed to get you moving, with its pulsating rhythm and infectious energy that practically demands you hit the dancefloor.

But as the EP progresses, we’re introduced to songs with more personality and flair. “Dream Guy” stands out with its cheeky, playful chorus that provides an enticing mix of sharp rhythms and clever lyrics.

One track that showcases her emotional range is “Reaching (The Anxiety Love Song).” Here, TE/MO’s ability to navigate between upbeat rhythms and quieter, more introspective moments becomes clear. The song retains its infectious spirit but carries a sense of vulnerability, demonstrating her skill at mixing depth with accessibility.

“Happily Ever Alright” with its melody hooks listeners from the first few notes and refuses to let go. The track’s irresistible flow perfectly encapsulates the balance TE/MO strikes between catchiness and emotional resonance. It’s clear that the artist has a knack for crafting tunes that stick with you, sonically and lyrically, proving her versatility and ability to shift between pop, rock elements with ease.

The second EP, LOVERS, REVERSED, begins with “Neverland,” which offers a more mysterious, almost baroque-inspired atmosphere. The song carries an air of elegance and drama that contrasts with the vibrant, more playful energy of the first EP. Its rhythm is equally captivating, pulling you into a world where reality blurs into fantasy—a fitting backdrop for a track that could easily accompany a whimsical, otherworldly movie soundtrack.

“Maybe” is another enchanting moment on this second EP. The delicate, plucked keys and ethereal melodies create an atmosphere of weightlessness, transporting listeners to a dreamy, almost magical space. The track showcases a softer side of TE/MO, one that contrasts with the high-octane energy of earlier songs, yet still remains deeply engaging.

Then comes “Bombshell,” a song that starts with the static buzz of a radio tuning in before exploding into an energetic, rapid-fire rhythm. The track builds momentum like a speeding train, pushing forward with an intricate harmonic structure and unexpected shifts in rhythm. The chorus delivers a powerful punch. The combination of intense beats, bold instrumentation, and creative transitions keeps the track thrilling from start to finish.

LOVERS, REVERSED ends with “Band Bro,” a track that brings everything full circle. It’s bold, unapologetic, and full of personality, blending rock and punk influences with pop. The song feels like a manifesto of sorts for TE/MO, showcasing her rebellious side with lyrics that are direct and unfiltered, proving her multifaceted approach to pop music.

TE/MO establishes herself as a noteworthy talent in the music scene, offering something for everyone while staying true to her creative vision.

TE/MO (Teagan Earley), the indie pop artist from Chicago, returns with the second chapter of her TAROT series—the double EP LOVERS, UPRIGHT & LOVERS, REVERSED. Continuing her creative partnership with producer JP Warner, TE/MO also introduces a bold, 80s-inspired sonic palette shaped by Joey Chelius.

With UPRIGHT, she channels the grandeur of Queen, Kate Bush, and Bruce Springsteen, embracing theatricality and anthemic storytelling. Meanwhile, REVERSED leans into the raw energy of Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and Janis Joplin, delivering a fierce, unapologetic edge. The result is a striking fusion of past and present, where classic rock meets modern pop in TE/MO’s ever-evolving artistry.
