Good Day Noir Family,
From the start, Ari Joshua’s “Tagine” casts a spell, painting an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue.
Tagine is Ari Joshua’s Single Out Now
The opening guitar riff, which reminded me of Pink Floyd, transports you to a timeless realm, blurring the lines between reality and the metaphysical.
A generous layer of reverb adds to the otherworldly feel as if opening a portal to a hidden dimension. Our three musical guides, Ari Joshua, Joe Russo, and Marco Benevento, lead us through this sinister yet captivating underworld.
Joe Russo’s drumming is extraordinary, as expected from a two-time New Groove award winner at the Jammys (2000 and 2005). His solid and reliable presence provides a foundation for his fellow musicians to explore the depths of their artistry.
Marco Benevento’s keys weave the atmosphere, creating a path that skirts the abyss. His sounds are mesmerizing, and his execution is flawless. It’s no wonder he’s been recognized with accolades like an Independent Music Awards nomination.
Ari Joshua, as always, masterfully sparks the alchemy between the band members. His guitar serves as the bridge, enveloping the listener in a unique musical experience.
The song evokes images of Dante’s Divine Comedy, a fantastical journey I wholeheartedly recommend.
“Tagine” is an immersive adventure that will leave you spellbound. The interplay between the musicians is magical, and the song’s atmosphere is captivating and unsettling.
With each note, “Tagine” showcases the undeniable synergy between Ari Joshua, Joe Russo, and Marco Benevento.

“I was playing a lot around the city, Marco and Joe were two of my favorite players, we played several times in various configurations, and I would come to Tagine with my guitar, and later The Knitting Factory to play with them. They are two of my favortite players, so great to make music with.”
“This track is something I wrote after 9-11. The week after 9-11 we were driving with all our gear in Marco’s Subaru across the bridge. It was like a military shutdown. They searched the vehicle, but the guys must have known the difference between an hammond organ and a bomb cause they let us though, and we crossed the bridge and played at Tagine.”
