Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to String Bone. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of his music.
As soon as I hit the play button I felt like I was in the middle of the desert, I felt the heat of the Arizona’s sun, I searched for water under a Seguaro and I saw a scorpion hiding under a rock.
I felt like a renegade running away from the police to find a new life in Mexico.
This music has the ability to make you travel and in my opinion, it would be perfect as the soundtrack of films like “No Country For Old Men“.
We are faced with an experienced artist who is capable of arousing intense emotions in his listeners.
The production is fantastic, airy and “desertic” perfect for the genre.
A great discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Waitin’ For My Dyin’ Day is String Bone’s Single Out Now!
Desertically Intense!
Not to be pigeon holed, String Bone architect, Canadian singer-songwriter Barry James Payne falls firmly in the Americana (from Canada) bucket, but lately with ongoing collaborations, he is experimenting with other genres from Dance to 12-bar blues and from Southern Gothic to Pop. But mainly you will hear in his collection of songs a combination of Americana-Folk-Alt.Country with a smattering of Blues and Rock-tinged elements.
