Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Strawberry Cough. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and like the uniqueness of their compositional style.
The sound of this band contains very different elements that coexist in a perfect balance.
A psychedelic, nostalgic and magical rock that brings with it joy but also a sort of melancholy. A really cool vintage approach.
As soon as I hit the play button and the notes of the new single My Song 19 started to hit my ears it was like opening an old drawer and finding old yellowed Polaroids inside. Those moments of life immortalized in those photos are now just memories.
These guys have certainly spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable sound understanding.
Strawberry Cough have managed to create something different, a sound that sets them apart from the crowd and that’s why I recommend everyone to go and listen to them.

Innovative and Refined!
Formed in 2019, Strawberry Cough has developed its unique sound with a primary emphasis on a mixture of shoegaze and early 2000s style rock. With a wide variety of influences ranging from slowcore bands like Duster; to shoegaze bands like Cocteau Twins; to garage-indie rock bands like the Strokes, and everything in between, each song takes the listener down a distinct sonic journey. Through heavy involvement in the Salt Lake music scene and playing many shows with some of Utah’s most renowned artists, Strawberry Cough has cemented itself as one of Utah’s most loved local bands.
