We are certainly facing a duo who likes to experiment.
The sound research done to create this type of sound is not at all trivial. This music has many genres in it that coexist in perfect balance.
I have heard influences from Punk, Rock, and Alternative. The melodic line and the effect used on the voice in some moments reminded me of The Clash.
These guys have a clear musical vision and follow their emotions. Their compositional approach is not based on commercial rules but only on the instinc that drives them to seek sound paths never traveled before.
Flemish in the North are a band to watch as their music stands out from the crowd.

Snow Crocs is Flemish in the North’s Single | Indie Music
Everett and Chris have been friends since they were in college, both having attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. They both had prior experiences playing guitar in bands (ranging from deathcore to pop punk), and had always talked about potentially writing music together. It took multiple years of each of them flaking on one another, but this past year they finally got to writing some tunes and recording (it also helps that they currently are roommates in Arlington, VA). After experimenting on guitar and synthesizers together, trying to figure out each others’ writing styles and nuances, they hit the ground running on multiple demos and song skeletons. Since then, they have finalized and released their debut single “Snow Crocs,” and are working on many more tunes that they’re ecstatic to finish up and release.
