Sleek Teeth’s Self Titled Ep Is Out Now

Good Day Noir Family,
The opening track “Operating” from Sleek Teeth’s self-titled EP immediately drops you into a futuristic atmosphere reminiscent of Blade Runner, blending electronic sounds that feel forward-looking and grounded in the ’80s.

This duo seems to communicate from a distant time, drawing a line between retro-industrial influences and modern production techniques.

“Endless” continues in this dystopian realm, with groovy beats that wrap around you, building a distinct world of their own.

The song’s melody is ethereal, lifting you out of the gritty electronic grooves and into a more dream-like space, especially in the chorus, which hits with a powerful, almost cinematic force.

Then there’s “Gone,” a darker, more intense track. The pulsating kick drum thumps deep in your chest, matching the quickened pace of your heartbeat, creating a sense of urgency and tension.

It conjures images of people dressed like Mad Max characters, dancing with abandon in an abandoned airport hangar.

“Powerless” follows with a futuristic arpeggiated intro that takes you on an interstellar journey, transporting you through cosmic expanses.

The bass-heavy groove in this track hits hard, evoking the feel of a dark Berlin club where the music pounds through the night.

The EP closes with “Sanctuary,” a more atmospheric track. The keys are melodic and hypnotic, pulling you into a trance-like state that lingers long after the final notes fade.

Sleek Teeth’s sound is like Alphaville on steroids, with hints of Depeche Mode woven into their DNA.

Yet, they exist in their own space—a limbo between future and past. The production is sleek and polished, a testament to their refined compositional skills.

This duo knows how to craft high-quality tracks that balance dark industrial tones with haunting, melodic layers.

The duo made an impressive live debut at the legendary Das Bunker in Los Angeles in 2024, and are slated to play the LA darkwave music festival Substance in November. Their debut EP is out now.
