The sacred fire of rock flows in the blood of this band.
As I hit the play button and I was assaulted by the guitar riff my hand went up with horns pointing towards the sky.
A compositional style that is inspired by the past but that manages to be modern at the same time.
The chord progression is articulated and interesting and keeps the listener glued from the first to the last second.
Canning has a unique vision and especially in the choruses the harmonic progression intrigued me a lot. These guys try to amaze the listener with bold rhythmic variations and unusual melodic sequences.
Surely we are dealing with good musicians with great compositional experience behind them.
Shortline is a cool tune that I recommend everyone to go and listen to.

CANNING…having been brought up in and out of the Chicago rock scene, has endured to keep true to its roots of authenticity, diversity and individuality. For the listener, a true connection can be made by experiencing the depths and devotion found within the assault or the gentle caress of a live show.
Canning deems to explore their music and portray a song in its rightful place, at least for that given moment. Throughout the years, many times Canning does not play the song, moreover, with the elasticity of time…the song will play them…
