our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Scarlet Mill. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify I was fascinated by their musical vision.
This duo produces music that manages to stand out from the crowd for the uniqueness of the sounds and melodic lines.
A mysterious, hypnotic, and in some moments even sinister sound that has the ability to bewitch the listener.
The new single Port Henry has a repetitive cadence that puts you in a comatose state that allows you to open your mind to ancestral thoughts.
Scarlet Mill don’t just make music, they want to give the listeners a complete experience … a journey into a parallel universe. This music is crepuscular and it is perfect for the night-loving renegades.
The production is excellent and the vocal interpretation is perfect for the genre.
I was very impressed by this Duo and I recommend them to everyone.

Unique and Hypnotic!
Scarlet Mill are a Dutch alternative/indie band consisting of Jennifer Moesker (vocals, piano, synths) and Erik Verhoef (vocals, guitar, bass and drums). Their permanent special guest is Maarten Verhoef (saxophones).
This obscure duo first got together in the 1980’s, but then drifted apart for a couple of decades. It took them all-in-all some 35 years, partly spent on various musical adventures with other musicians and bands, to finally get their act together and to release, in 2020, their first album Chronicles – a murder ballad in 7 pieces filled with songs of passion, fate and redemption. They just released Port Henry, the first single for their second, forthcoming album.
