Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to SALT. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their wild and free compositional style.
The rough and direct sound of this band immediately convinced me.
An irreverent way of making music that has no boundaries that raises the middle finger to the commercial music made of plasticized beats and voices with autotune.
This is the real deal, made of sweat and blood, made of days in the rehearsal room to achieve a musical understanding to find the right groove.
SALT succeeded and were able to create a perfect blend, an epic, mysterious and powerful sound that keeps the listener glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
An honest, solid album that follows a coherent thread, all the songs are interesting and are inspired by the great bands of the past.
A “vintage” sound that manages to be modern at the same time and that puts this music in its own limbo.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Cellophane is SALT’s Album Out Now!
Irreverent and Free!
SALT are an alternative post punk pop band. Extremely independent they record, produce and release all their work. They are extremely prolific with no genre left untouched. Anything goes if it sounds good.
Having supported Rose McDowall (Strawberry Switchblade) on her recent tour and played at Edinburgh’s prestigious Fresh Produce event, SALT have perfected their live show.
SALT have an emotional intensity using a wide variety of influences. Powerful, broody, eclectic and dark. Like Nick Cave meets the Fall meets the Pixies. Grungey guitars, intense bass and exhilarating drums backup an emotional eclectic vocal that entices you into the fairytale on fire that is SALT.
Sharon Woods (Vocalist), Robin woods (Guitars), Simon Kettles (Bass), James King (Drums, Keys)
