Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Red Maker. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their compositional approach.
I liked the sound of this band from the very first seconds.
A way of making music that looks to the past but manages to be modern at the same time.
In some passages, the harmonies reminded me of Oasis and perhaps also the vocal timbre. A voice with an interesting timbre that distinguishes the sound of this band even more.
It feels like these guys have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable musical understanding.
The production is good especially the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice fuck that I recommend to everyone
Better In Time is Red Maker’s Single Out Now!
Elegant and Melodic!
Forming in South Dakota, in late 2020, came the newest duo of the Sioux Falls music scene, Red Maker. Sam Di Vito and Morgan Harris were two small-town kids, who shared a musical background and a love of an eclectic range of records. From jamming and recording covers of their favorite songs, they quickly sparked a friendship with each other.
After their high-school years, they ended up going down their separate roads for some time. Reconnecting at a Slayer show, the two found each other still had the same musical interest and goals and decided that two brains are better than one. They combined their instruments, experience, and drive, to form Red Maker. Their shared love of 60’s pop (Beatles, Beach Boys, the Doors, etc.) became the main inspiration of their songwriting, but their metal-headed instincts of hitting hard and playing fast can’t help but find its way into their sound from time to time. Old habits are hard to break, and it’s brought an excitement and energy to indie music like you’ve never experienced. They’ve been compared to bands such as Hockey Dad, Hippo Campus, The Cribs, Built to Spill, Pinegrove, and French Kicks.
