Madam Who? was born July 27th, 2019 after a kind stranger pulled her from the ocean. Nine months earlier her alter ego split with her long-time partner, temporarily leaving her two children in the home she literally helped build. Devastated and exhausted, she hit rock bottom.
Though she had sworn off music centuries ago, the Universe insisted she get back to it, having had to nearly drown her to get her to realize it. At first she fought it, but the songs wouldn’t leave her alone. Finally, she stopped resisting and got out a notebook and her dusty guitar. To her surprise it felt good. Really good. Little by little she began to welcome the muse back in like an old, favorite lover from long ago.
The more she wrote, the stronger she felt. Then she started writing songs to empower herself as well as others who have suffered from abuse. Most recently – and inspired by the lock-down – she penned and recorded the song, “Better Than Sex” in a matter of days. That’s the latest in an arsenal of catchy pop songs inspired by The Beatles, The B-52’s, Bjork, The Go-Go’s, Lady Gaga, The Killers, and many more. Her songs may get stuck in your head, but they only want to empower you.
