Erin Porter is Your Best Nightmare. A musical project crafted from Porter’s great frustrations of life and passion for horrifying fiction. Unapologetically herself and here to “frighten” the masses, Your Best Nightmare is taking on the world with ukulele in hand.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Erin Porter spent her whole entire life immersed in music. Whether it be the overabundance of CDs played in her living room, dancing on stage, or belting out show tunes; each year of Porter’s childhood was a nonstop concert. Erin was a bit shy as a child; singing and playing alone in front of others was terrifying. However, in high school that all changed when she became a theater kid.
Erin was very active in theater during high school, and delighted in portraying different characters as part of her life. It was during this time that Erin knew she wanted to tell stories to people through music. Upon graduating high school, Erin attended the Hartt School of Music (and later transferred to and graduated from Montclair State!) to study music. She is a classically trained soprano and multi-instrumentalist who will talk your ear off about music if you let her.
