Ponies Back Home is Lucas Pasley’s Album Out Now
Traditional American music has spread around starting right from the Appalachian mountains.
It’s great to be able to hear an exponent of this genre producing his songs right in the heart of those beautiful mountains.
Lucas Pasley’s music takes you back in time. While listening to it, you seem to be around the fire with the pioneers who find some solace in music after a hard day of work.
Ponies Back Home is loaded with ancestral emotions and distant stories brought to us by the wind.
Surely we are dealing with a great musician. The performance is in fact impeccable and the songwriting is masterful. I also greatly appreciated this alternation between male and female voices.
An album to be savored slowly, in small sips, like a glass of aged whiskey in order to appreciate all the little nuances.
Go and listen to Lucas Pasley’s music, you will be surprised by the quality of his songs.

Lucas Pasley is an oldtime fiddler / banjoist and singer-songwriter from Sparta, NC in the heart of the southern Appalachian mountains.
Rooted in traditional Appalachian and Country music, Lucas often pulls lyrics from his family’s writing in addition to his own and there’s an emphasis on instrumental solos and harmony singing throughout his music. His first album, Souls Living On, is a collection of four generations of songwriting in his family and a new album is scheduled for release in 2022.
On the traditional music side, Lucas plays in the band Gap Civil and has worked to preserve and honor the music of Alleghany County, NC and the surrounding areas.
