Good Day Noir Family,
Jeremy Engel’s latest single, “On Your Wire,” is a track that immediately draws you in with its familiar yet fresh chord progression.

The song’s opening chords evoke a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of classics like Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man,” while Engel’s vocal delivery channels the intensity and raw emotion of Mick Jagger.

This combination creates a delicate balance that keeps the listener engaged, teetering between the tangible and the ethereal.

“On Your Wire” is a refined piece that takes the listener on a journey of introspection and exploration.

The lyrics, rich with existential musings, echoes Nietzsche’s contemplation on the abyss, suggesting that true equilibrium is found not in avoidance but in embracing our limits and venturing beyond them.

Engel’s voice, filled with a deep sense of yearning, adds a layer of complexity to the song, making it both accessible and thought-provoking.

The arrangement is equally noteworthy. The inclusion of strings adds a melancholic touch that deeply resonates with the soul.

This orchestral element not only enhances the song’s emotional depth but also showcases Engel’s skill in crafting music that transcends the ordinary.

Jeremy Engel is a Luxembourg folk-rock musician and singer.
The release date of On Your Wire is not casual. In 1974, on August 7 th the high wire artist Philippe Petit completed an illegal high wire walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre of New York City. The track is inspired by this historical event. The artist’s aim is to celebrate Petit’s tricky task but also reflect on how life is about courage.
