Odes… is Tragically Unknown’s Album
The sound of this band is magical and ethereal.
I was immediately struck by the singer’s voice that in some moments reminded me of singers like Florence + the Machine and Dolores O’Riordan.
The harmonic construction of these songs is impeccable and the chord progression is never predictable and banal.
Odes… is a mature work, and it’s amazing to know that this is their debut album. All the songs are solid and demonstrate the complete artistic vision of this band.
You can feel that Tragically Unknown spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to achieve such an enviable musical alchemy.
Their music brings with it the atmospheres of their beautiful land. Those wild landscapes and those boundless expanses live in the music of Tragically Unknown.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Odes… is Tragically Unknown’s Album Out Now!

Odes… is Tragically Unknown’s Album
Icelandic alt-rock band has released their debut album, Odes….
This rocking, ten song record was written and recorded in the past 12 months and mostly produced in the band’s own home studio. The Icelandic National Radio sponsored the production of the record.
Tragically Unknown was founded in the fall of 2021. The band consists of singer Helena Hafstein, guitarist Oddur Mar and bassist Thorgnyr Einar Albertsson. Previously released singles have garnered national attention and radio play as well as radio play and coverage in international media.
In the run-up to the album’s release, Tragically Unknown also produced and released two music videos.
The songs on the album mostly touch on love, breakups and heartache. The instrumentals are driving and melodic, inspired by bands like The Cranberries and Pixies.
