O Daughter is My Fine Companions’ New Single
Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed My Fine Companions in the past but they are out now with a new cool single and I want to share my opinion about it.
As soon as I hit the play button and heard that beautiful guitar arpeggio I got goosebumps
When I hear this medieval atmospheres I am immediately conquered.
The atmosphere of this song is frankly fantastic and takes you to the English countryside at the time of duels and sword battles. The era of the knights, where life was lived in the now.
This melody brings with it ancestral vibrations, it brings with it distant stories never forgotten. Previous lives have risen to the sky like the smoke of a fire and have disappeared into the air leaving only the scent of their past.
This music is absolutely fantastic!
O Daughter is My Fine Companions’ Single Out Now!
Anchestral!
Nick Kidney, the band’s creative force and multi-instrumentalist writer, said: “I wrote this song when my daughter left home to live in Colombia with her boyfriend. Being without her made me start to think about the three most important women in my life (my daughter, my mother and my wife) and the different ways each of them had enriched my life.”
The song is also special because Nick’s daughter, Alice, agreed to sing it with him when she returned after six months away. “To be honest I think she makes it,” continues Nick. “Also, my wife, Karen, said we should release it. She thought it was a special song.” The song definitely has the signature Companions sound and feel, but the addition of keyboard and strings adds some new flourishes to the sound.
