Sunset Salore’s new single, “Mystery and Magic,” is a nostalgic trip back to the 80s.
Mystery and Magic is Sunset Salore’s Single Out Now
The track opens with a synth-laden intro that immediately sets the mood. A pulsating bassline and intricate melodies draw you into a world of romance and intrigue.
Salore’s vocals are hypnotic and powerful. Her voice is full of emotion, perfectly capturing the excitement and uncertainty of a new encounter.
The song’s lyrics explore the theme of knowing a new person and focusing on even the little things to know more about him/her.
The arrangement is meticulous, with lush harmonies and subtle instrumental details that add depth and complexity to the track.
The song’s overall vibe reminded me of classic 80s hits like Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long.”
It’s a feel-good track that’s sure to get stuck in your head. However, “Mystery and Magic” is more than just a nostalgic throwback. Salore’s unique style and contemporary production give the song a fresh and modern feel.
What I particularly enjoyed about the song is the tension underlying the upbeat melody. The lyrics speak of the unknown and the excitement of a new connection, and the music perfectly captures that feeling.
It’s a song that will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the thrill of falling in love…so to everybody 🙂

Refined!
“‘Mystery and Magic’ was written to explore the euphoria of learning someone new, and uncovering the unique things that draw you to that person. Instead of an overly sentimental love song, I wanted to focus on the spark in that moment. Lyrically I was exploring the small things in a new situation which stand out as they are, or in metaphor. Melbourne is known for amazing coffee, but in the song this person prefers a nice hot cup of Ceylon, but that is ok. The differences we see in each other add significantly in learning new things to expand your horizons, not narrow them down. It’s about finding someone who compliments or enhances you, and you compliment or enhance them as individuals, not be cookie cutters of each other, or tear apart each other’s differences. Difference can be enriching, and we can grow from that significantly.”
