our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mulholland Jive. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his contagious creativity.
This music is fantastic. A unique and innovative compositional approach.
This artist likes to experiment and you can feel that he enjoys composing his songs which are made of incredible harmonic richness.
I would hear his sound as the soundtrack of an animated Pixar movie, this music puts you in a good mood and even if the general melody is very catchy the chord progression and the rhythmic variations are not at all trivial and obvious.
We are faced with a great composer capable of moving and entertaining at the same time. Certainly, it takes a lot of skills to produce music of this quality.
A fantastic find that I recommend to everyone!

Mulholland Jive is an instrumental funk-rock project by Irish musician Ben Mulholland, a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Cambridge, UK. Ben originally wrote a lot of the Mulholland Jive tracks for some of his secondary school students to rehearse and perform. After the tracks proved very popular with the students, Ben decided to record the pieces properly and release them. Mulholland Jive is inspired by the energetic funk of Snarky Puppy and Vulfpeck as well as the riffs and rock sound of Muse and The White Stripes.
