our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mother Culture. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the uniqueness of their music.
This Duo proposes very interesting music. A rock that initially seems pop but which actually hides a very interesting alternative vein.
In fact, the chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to amaze the listener with sudden rhythmic variations and with refined and never banal harmonic intuitions.
I can feel that these guys have a compositional experience behind them because their songs are mature and in my opinion ready to be presented on big stages around the world.
A duo that seems to have clear ideas on how to propose their musical project to the public and that has for sure a bright future ahead of them.
Go and listen to them it is worth it!

Mother Culture is the brainchild of brothers Darcy and Spencer Ward.
“We operate out of our Melbourne based home studio, fully embracing the modern DIY ethos; writing, recording and producing all of our music independently together as a duo. After previously releasing our debut EP ‘To Be Frank’ in Nov 2020 along with singles ‘Fuzzface’ and ‘Scaramouche’ earlier in 2021, we’re keeping the train rolling right into the next station”.
