Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Midnight Run. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I was fascinated by their music.
As soon as I heard the sound of the acoustic guitar I immediately began to travel with my imagination and I saw myself on a pioneer wagon looking for a new home.
The music of the Midnight Run carries with it the hope of a better future, listening to this magnificent melody I felt free and I felt like dancing under the moonlight.
A very engaging compositional style and a chord progression that is never predictable and banal that manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
The singer’s voice is beautiful, warm, and peculiar able to make you believe the words sung in the lyrics.
The production is excellent, simple but refined, perfect for the genre. A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Midnight Run were born out of lockdown one, and met via a social platform (vampr) for musicians. Based in London, the duo consist of Jacob Elwy from North Wales and Jonny Mac from Liverpool. Recording sessions began during lockdown 3 above the Prince of Wales pub in Putney, drawing inspiration from rootsie, raw, acoustic indie vibes accompanied by expressive vocals and powerful melodies.
