our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mauri Dark. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his creativity and vision.
I was delighted by this artist’s music from the very first seconds.
The sound of Mauri Dark spoke directly to my heart and soul and I felt to know him for a long time.
The atmosphere of Thin Line Of Understanding, but to be honest of the whole album, made me think of Johnny Cash especially when the American singer-songwriter started collaborating with Trent Reznor at Rick Rubin.
The music of Mauri Dark is intimate, deep, and mature. It is evident that we are dealing with a musician with great compositional experience behind him.
The single is accompanied by a stunning video of a wounded female soldier set I believe in the magical Finnish forests. An artist with a global artistic vision that is more than just music.
A fantastic discovery that I want to recommend to everyone!

Born Mauri Kosonen in 1978 and based in Turku, Finland, Mauri Dark is a singer/songwriter, multiinstrumentalist, established musician and a professional visual artist. He has recorded 8 albums and performed more than 500 shows in 25 years with different bands. He is best known for 5 albums with metal duo, Mystons. “Dreams Of A Middle-Aged Man” is Mauri Dark’s first solo album. It includes a Top 10 South Africa iTunes hit and a Top 20 iTunes UK hit.
