our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Mantis State. I discovered this Band while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked their refined and innovative music.
This is a band that isn’t here to play around, these guys are taking their project very seriously.
Mantis State already have the uniqueness of sound that makes them instantly recognizable.
Music that winks at the eighties but manages to be incredibly modern.
The saxophone starts softly and then instead screams in a crescendo of emotions.
The chord progression is never banal and obvious and you can hear that these guys have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room because they sound very tight!
The continuous harmonic and melodic variations keep the listener glued to the speakers from the first to the last second.
A mature band and ready for the big audience.
They play a genre that certainly could appeal to many people and have all the credentials to breakthrough.
