Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Louisiana Claude. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his compositional style.
The music of this artist manages to speak directly to the listener’s heart and soul.
This artist takes inspiration from the great tradition of American music. That music that is handed down from generation to generation. Music made by the pioneers to have happy moments during a time where everything was difficult and where the only goal was to find a new life and freedom.
This is the real music, a sound made of sweat, sincerity, and purity that does not need plasticized beats, which is played by real instruments, where the strings vibrate and the wood amplifies the notes.
The production is good and in particular, the mix that leaves the right space for each sound element and the song breathes well.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Sitting In The Jail House is Louisiana Claude’s Album Out Now!
Real and Direct!
Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist “Louisiana” Claude Hitt grew up in Singapore where he started his musical odyssey! Now back in Louisiana, Claude is a hallmark of the New Orleans blues scene. Inspired by The Allman Brothers, The Rolling Stones, T-Rex, and Z Z Top, Claude has fine-tuned his original blues sound. He’s played across New Orleans including at the Howling Wolf, Buddha Belly, Rusty Nail, Checkpoint Charlie’s, and Luckys.
“Sittin in the Jailhouse” comes from a personal story of Claude’s close relative who was arrested for a crime, didn’t show up to court, was held in contempt, and then decided to spend 6 months in jail instead of posting bail. After 2 weeks, she called her mom for the bail money to be picked up. On the way back from the jail, Claude wrote this heartfelt song.
