Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Liza Weald. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked her voice and her way of composing music.
Another day and another talented artist.
Liza Weald is fantastic with a very refined musical approach and a voice capable of enchanting.
Listening to her music I was mesmerized and literally transported to a parallel universe. For a moment I felt like Ulysses when he heard the mermaids singing.
Liza’s voice spoke directly to my soul and heart with its unique, warm, and sinuous timbre.
The chord progression is never predictable and banal and manages to entertain the listener from the first to the last second.
A mature artist, in my opinion, ready for the masses, I have found no flaws in the songs proposed by this eclectic artist.
A beautiful discovery that I recommend to everyone.
Shape Of The Dunes is Liza Weald’s Ep Out Now!
Mature and Ready!
Liza Weald is the folkpop-project of 20-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter Lisa de Bruijn. Together with her band, she provides the listener with fresh, storytelling songs with a hint of mystery at times. An organic landscape of acoustic guitar, trumpet and theatrical polyphonic vocals on the forefront, endorsed by an electronic foundation of synth (bass), the effect pedals of the trumpet player and a ton of atmosphere.
Last year, Lisa gained two prizes: de Grote Prijs van Rotterdam and the gain of a Rotterdam Music Award in November. “It deserves the attention of the folk lover”, according to 3voor12 Rotterdam. After releasing her three first singles, she will now bundle them as her debut-EP “Shape Of The Dunes”, with the title song as her new single. “Shape Of The Dunes” is a romantic, warm folk song, about the desire to be a part of the memories of your significant other.
