Light Is A Story is Moorby Jones’ Single
As soon as I pressed the play button, I immediately realized that I was dealing with highly experienced musicians.
The sophistication of the musical arrangements made me think of bands like Pink Floyd. Surely Moorby Jones are inspired by the legendary bands of the past but they have managed to create a truly intriguing sound blend that makes them original.
I really liked the rhythmic cadence of their new single Light Is A Story. This tune is refined and takes its time to communicate strong emotions, doesn’t rush, and demonstrates extraordinary artistic maturity.
The interpretation and performance by all musicians are impeccable. The sound understanding that Moorby Jones have managed to create is enviable, you can feel that they have spent a lot of time in the rehearsal room to take care of every little detail.
A great find that I recommend to everyone.

Reflecting strongly the American singer-songwriters of the early ‘70s, Moorby Jones also sign in with their own distinctive contemporary voice. These three experienced and versatile musicians have a large repertoire of their own songs, featuring well-crafted lyrics and powerful melodies.
Steve Moorby (guitar/pedal steel/keyboards/mandolin/vocals) and Dick Jones (bass guitar/bouzouki) first met up as very junior musicians in legendary ‘70s weirdfolk band Tintagel. Gelling as songwriters from the start, they lost contact with the break-up of the band and were only reunited in 2015. Joined by Steve’s daughter Gemma (guitar/keyboards/drums/vocals and drummer with synth-pop songwriters-to-the-great Kish Mauve), Moorby Jones represent a potent example of continuity, creativity and innovation.
