Neurasthenic’s upcoming album Life of Pain offers a glimpse into a world where the past and future collide, and we’ve got three singles to dig into: “Routine,” “Alprazolam,” and the title track, “Life of Pain.”

Starting with “Routine,” the song opens with a futuristic arpeggio, immediately pulling you into its pressure-filled rhythm.
Sébastien, the mastermind behind Neurasthenic, leads the charge with his voice, painting a melody over the tightly constructed instrumental layers.
This track harks back to the moody aesthetics of The Cure, with a touch of Depeche Mode, leaning heavily into ’80s influences.
What stands out is the richness of the arrangement and the dreamy, nostalgic vibe, offering a mesmerizing mix of electronics and raw emotion.
Next, “Alprazolam” takes you on a journey between memory and reality. Its epic melody feels timeless like it exists outside the constraints of the present.
Paired with the vintage hues of the video, this song is visually and sonically entrancing. The blend of retro electronic elements and a suspended-in-time feeling truly makes it unique, with the protagonist in the video seemingly caught in her surreal world.
