After five years of making waves in the Utah music scene, playing Warped Tour in 2014 and sharing the stage with bands like Cartel, Knuckle Puck, and Tiny Moving Parts, the band went on an indefinite hiatus. In 2018, their lead singer, Josh Paul, was diagnosed with brain cancer (oligodendroglioma). Since then, Josh has undergone two surgeries to remove the tumor, but in June 2024, the band was devastated to learn that the cancer had returned for a third time.
This diagnosis reignited their passion and purpose as a band, giving new depth to their music. Their track “Life Lessons” encapsulates their journey—raw, emotional, and an anthem of perseverance in the face of life’s hardest challenges. For Josh and the rest of the band, the song is more than just music; it’s a reflection of resilience, strength, and the power of not giving up, making it both impactful and deeply personal.
