Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Lewca. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked his “weird” musical approach.
Surely we are faced with a very eclectic and creative artist capable of proposing fascinatingly extravagant songs.
A bizarre and unique musical approach that blends into many genres including punk, rock, and in my opinion there are even shades of avant-garde.
This artist has been able to create something different that is absolutely recognizable.
Some of these songs have a more modern approach while others draw heavily from traditional music.
The whole thing, however, makes sense as Lewca manages to give a continuity of sound to all of his songs.
The chord progression is never trivial and the harmonic intuitions are truly innovative.
An artist to keep an eye on for sure.
Walking the Hedgehog is Lewca’s Ep Out Now!
Innovative music!
Lewca was born in a squat in Brixton, by age nineteen he was living in a squat in Paris, go figure… After studying fine art and dabbling in film, he started making music just before he was too old to die young.
His influences range from class A drugs to expensive rum, and also The Clash, The Streets, Ian Dury, Eminem, Tom Waits, whoever is making decent music…
He currently lives in Normandy, has three kids and a mortgage and semi-domesticated hedgehog named “Sonic”
