Good Day Noir Family,
our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Kaylyn Marie. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I really liked her voice.
The music of this artist is intense and manages to speak to the heart and soul perhaps because of the warm and mysterious timbre of the voice of this magnificent singer.
A warm voice that hides a veil of melancholy that makes it very fascinating.
An enviable vocal control where every breath and pause and all the little embroideries and nuances are kept under control by meticulous preparation.
A highly professional product where each instrument has the right space and the mix, perfectly balanced, allows you to enjoy all the little touches that the artist wants us to get.
Songs that tell stories and you listen to them as when you read a book and you find yourself turning the pages without stopping because you want to see how the story ends… and once you turn the last page you go back to the beginning and press the play button again to live those emotions another time.
A mature artist who already has a lot of experience behind her but who certainly has a bright future ahead of her.
At Work is Kaylyn Marie’s Single Out Now!
Voice capable of moving strong feelings!
Though Kaylyn Marie has been performing nationally for over 15 years from American Idol to local stages, “At Work” is the first single she’s released in 6 years. It is the first of her sophomore EP titled “Forget Me Not” slated for a May 2021 release.
Though this song was written in a matter of minutes, it is was one of the more difficult songs she’s written because of its confession. This is one of five songs depicting a story of a person leaving an abusive relationship. Too often, people in abusive relationships are asked things like, “Why don’t you just
leave?!” – “How do you take this behavior?!” – it is often unacknowledged that there is likely a deep care between two people who are unhealthy together. This song is the confession that though there is love, it is not to be built upon, it is not “at work”.
