our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Joe Matzzie. I discovered this Artist while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of this music.
What a relaxing song, as soon as I hit the play button I imagined myself on a horse crossing a flat deserted land in central America.
I saw the huge sky and my gaze was lost to the horizon while the sun made me see mirages.
At that moment I felt free and the wind in my hair was like the notes of this song. A breath of fresh air, a breeze of serenity in such a stressful time for the world.
Joe Matzzie’s music has the ability to make you forget about everyday problems and can clear your mind of negative thoughts.
A nice discovery that I recommend to everyone.

Joe Matzzie is a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Music Connection Magazine described his voice as “a signature, high register rasp that conveys the ever-present feeling of love in his lyrics”. Although his genre as a recording artist falls within Americana Folk-Rock, his authentic charm has more than once been likened to that of Jazz legend Cab Calloway. Growing up in Pittsburgh PA, he began playing music at the age of five and has surrounded himself with acoustic music styles his whole life.
He was a founding member of the Early Music group Mince Pye which performed at Renaissance festivals throughout the Northeast US & amassed a large cult following.
