our “E.A.Poets Approved/Bands We Like” section is dedicated to Jack & Cherry. I discovered this Duo while shuffling songs on Spotify and I liked the vibes of their music.
As soon as I pressed the play button I thought of the Dire Straits’ way of composing.
The guitars with their reverb create the right space and make the imagination fly.
The bass ventures into articulated phrases that fit perfectly with the rhythmic construction of the drums.
Male and female vocals go very well together, two very compatible timbres.
I liked the passion with which Jack & Cherry sing, you can breathe the love of music that this duo has.
Music that winks at past sounds but that manages to be modern at the same time.
Simple but refined music able to speak to the soul of the listener who is entertained from the first to the last second.

After years of craving Americana and country music in Berlin, Jack & Cherry decided to just make it themselves. It only took a couple of whiskey fuelled nights for Joel Shani’s guitar to bring Chloé Astruc’s unflinchingly honest and poetic lyrics to life.
Together their haunting melodies offer a refreshingly candid and intimate voice in an increasingly superficial industry. Imagine a witchy-circus-trailer rolling beneath the moonlight, in the middle of the desert, and you get Jack & Cherry.
