Good Day Noir Family,
Tom Minor’s latest single, “It’s the Wind, Stupid!” immediately immerses you in its narrative world, skipping the preamble and pulling you straight into the story.

It’s the Wind, Stupid! is Tom Minor’s Single Out Now

The track pays homage to classic rock with its sophisticated harmonic progression and the kind of melodic and rhythmic shifts that evoke the best of British rock, reminiscent of the stylings of David Bowie.

The song tells a story that’s relatable and universal, touching on the nature of casual encounters—how some connections can blossom into meaningful relationships, while others drift apart.

Minor’s lyrics and music work together to keep you engaged in this simple yet deeply resonant tale, where small moments carry significant emotional weight.

Musically, Tom Minor showcases his compositional finesse, crafting a piece that’s rich in structure and feeling.

The verses carry a slower, more reflective rhythm, giving space for the narrative to unfold. But as the chorus arrives, the tempo intensifies, bringing with it an ethereal, almost psychedelic quality that elevates the entire experience.

The dynamic shifts between verse and chorus are executed flawlessly, keeping the listener intrigued and emotionally invested from start to finish.

The chorus, in particular, stands out with its dreamlike atmosphere, contrasting beautifully with the more grounded verses.

This interplay between the two creates the perfect dynamic tension, making the song a compelling journey through its emotional peaks and valleys.

Superb!

Tom Minor’s latest single, “It’s the Wind, Stupid! is out now!

Picture a chance encounter between a City bank clerk (Sarah) who could easily cite Morrissey (”London, home of the brash, outrageous and free”) and didn’t look back, an angel going rogue (Angela obviously) and a young suburban non-professional (a fool who feared to tread where angels fear not, that is your Tommy boy) on a casual-turned-causal after-hours evening somewhere halfway between the Square Mile and a train back to the Home Counties.

Hailing from London N1, singer-songwriter Tom Minor feels inspired by indie rock, new wave and punk, power pop, psychedelic and garage rock, soul, R&B, reggae and ska.
