From the moment “Flowers For You” begins, with its wavering and sinuous guitar lines, you’re pulled into a world that feels grand and mysteriously intriguing.
There’s an immediate sense of scale, yet the song retains an element of enigmatic charm that keeps you guessing.
Beckmann’s work consistently brings to mind the brilliance of artists like Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel, in terms of experimentation and emotional depth.
“The Sun Is On Fire” is another great tune, with a haunting melody that creates a futuristic, dark atmosphere, reminiscent of the eerie light during an eclipse.
The mood is perfectly unsettling, yet it’s impossible to turn away.
“Bang Bang” offers a different flavour, one that subtly hints at influences from bands like Rammstein but with a much lighter, more refined touch.
The chorus, in particular, evokes the industrial edge of the German band blending intensity with a unique melodic sensibility.
“Who’s That Girl,” while sharing a title with a famous Madonna track, surpasses its namesake in terms of intensity and depth.
This song is beautifully enigmatic and dreamlike, standing as one of the EP’s highlights.
“Like The Night” is another personal favorite, featuring a saxophone that instantly transports you to the sultry, seductive vibe of the 80s.
The song feels like a flight of imagination, where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur, and you’re left floating in the music’s embrace.
Also “So Real” and “Dreamland,” are both solid tracks. “Dreamland,” in particular, feels like a dark lullaby, wrapping you in a warm embrace while still leaving you with a lingering question mark—classic Beckmann style.
