as soon as I saw that this artist had covered one of my favorite songs I couldn’t help but completely immerse myself in this new production by Kate Ellis.

Right from the start I really liked the guitar variation that is able to give an even more country mood to this legendary tune.
Kate Ellis’ voice touches your soul as Johnny Cash did while singing this melody.
This artist’s version carries with it a feminine delicacy, and although the melody is always nostalgic and dark, Kate Ellis has managed to add a veil of sweetness that makes her version of Hurt truly magical.
The new single is accompanied by a fantastic video, shot in an abandoned church. The light and the pastel colors marry perfectly with the mood of the track.
Kate Ellis amazed me once again and I was very excited to hear her interpretation of this masterpiece.

A limited edition of 300 hand-numbered vinyls of Kate Ellis’s critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Spirals’ HAS JUST BEEN RELEASED AND HURT IS the previously unreleased, special bonus track.
‘Hurt’ was recorded during the Spirals album studio sessions with producer John Reynolds (Sinead O’Connor, Indigo Girls, Belinda Carlisle, Damien Dempsey).
‘Spirals’ has been streamed on online platforms over 700,000 times since its original release and was named as Album of the Year by a number of independent radio DJs and listed among the Top 40 Americana Albums of the Year.
