Honeycomb Hotel is Luke Frees’ Single Out Now
Good Day Noir Family,
I already reviewed Luke Frees in the past but this artist is back with a new cool single and I want to share my opinion about it.
Honeycomb Hotel is Luke Frees’ Single Out Now
This song takes you back to the ’70s.
One of the first artists that came to my mind when listening to Honeycomb Hotel is David Bowie.
The melodic construction of this song is fantastic and Luke Frees proves to have an extraordinary artistic vision and compositional skills.
The funky guitar gives a bit of “silver” to the entire sound and the vibes are uplifting.
This tune charges you with a lot of energy to face life with the right attitude and you feel ready to experience new emotions.
While listening to the words of Honeycomb Hotel I imagined driving a convertible through the streets of Los Angeles one of those days when you just want to feel free.
Luke Frees is a complete and mature artist. His musical project is taken care of in every detail and I’m sure we are dealing with an artist who will go a long way.

Honeycomb Hotel is Luke Frees’ Single Out Now
Inspired by the fresh-air feeling you get when you come out the other side of a breakup, “Honeycomb Hotel” is a feel-good and funky rock track. With lyrics like “you can’t overstep if you’re scared to walk,” this song is about taking control of your own life again.
Luke Frees is a songwriter, performer, photographer, and producer based in Chicago. After years of writing songs on his own and with various bands, Luke studied songwriting and production at Berklee College of Music. Luke wrote, recorded, and produced a solo EP in early 2017, entitled After the Rain, which was heavily influenced by David Bowie and Nick Cave.
In the fall of 2017, Luke formed a band called The Cotones with three friends from school. Their debut album, Imaginary Friends, was released in March of 2020 on Upsurge Records. His first full-length solo album, The Lost Weekend, was released on May 5, 2019. Luke released his sophomore solo album, Some Easy Blood, in October of 2020, after the breakup of The Cotones. This album draws influences from artists like Tom Waits and The Cure, and tells the narrative of a collapsing relationship against the backdrop of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
